THE RECOVERY: HANDS,BODY, SLIDE...

1. W/release completed,we now fully extend the outside hand & begin the body swing w/the

shoulder's moving forward @ a controlled motion.

2. Pivot your body forward @ the hip towards your feet. Don't breakdown with the shoulder's.

3. PREPARE YOURSELF TO CATCH!

4. @ 1/4 slide your body angle has been achieved.

5. Never over extend yourself , you weaken yourself if you do.

6. Keep chin-up, from this point just roll up the slide w/ a controlled ratio.

7. Upper body never lifts up,draw your thighs towards your chest,just moveup the slide.

8. RECOVER ON THE RECOVERY/REST!

9. THINK RATIO: LOW RATE 1:3; HIGHER RATES 1:2.

10. Breath-inhale on the recovery;exhale on the DRIVE.

11. LET THE SHELL RUN OUT & WORK FOR YOU! EXTEND THE PUDDLES PAST THE STERN.

12. REMEMBER: PUSH THE BOAT THRU THE PIN!!

CONCLUSION; To excel in this sport you must be technically sound. Understand the mechanics of the stroke. Learn to row first-How to race and win will come later.
