THE FINISH: Remember:The finish is part of the catch!1. As your hands are approaching your chest you now should be applying continous pressure to the footstrechers with your upper thighs and balls/toes of feet. 2. As your outside hand touches your third rib you now apply a downward tap/motion releasing the blade from the the water. 3. Finish high to allow a clean/crisp release from the water to enable the shell to accelerate. 4. Remember as your preparing to release the blade from the water you are also preparing yourself to be released from the shell. If you can simultaneously release the blade and the pressure on the footstrechers, you will enable the shell to run out @ a greater speed! 5. W/the release completed,we now fully extend the outside arm & begin the body swing the shoulder's moving forward @ a controlled motion. 6. REMEMBER: THE HANDS NEVER STOP MOVING!-NEVER!!7. The feathering motion should be achieved w/inside hand; However, both hands can feather the blade as long as its controlled. @ a high stroke rate the latter method is more preferred. 8. Keep head high. LET THE SHELL RUN OUT!
