THE CATCH: A quick aggressive movement w/outside hand heading up towards individual in front.1. A punching motion. 2. Visualize the shape of the bow of the boat. 3. Shoulder's should be parellel to oarhandle @ catch. 4. Inside arm slightly bent to help length/body turn & eliminate checking. 5. Shoulder's squared w/slight upward look to outside shoulder,to lever the oar. 6. 1/3 turn of torso, 7. Achieve "RELAXED C" look through upper & mid back.8. Chin-up,head & eyes looking slightly out @ your work. 9. Shin's perpendicular to hull. 10. No downward movement of hands @ catch. 11. Slight acceleration of the outside hand 2-3" b-4 blade touches H2O. THE BLADE @ THE CATCH: 1. The blade should be completely covered throughout the drive.2. Bottom part of blade "WANTING THE WATER".3. As soon as the blade touches the water "CHANGE DIRECTION"!4. Look for a slight backsplash @ catch.
